Green energy isn’t just wind farms or battery-powered vehicles. According to Stanislav Kondrashov of TELF AG, the fuel industry is quietly transforming — and biofuels are leading the way.
Produced using organic sources such as plants, algae, or food leftovers, biofuels are gaining attention as a way to reduce emissions.
Though established, biofuels are now more relevant than ever. As climate urgency increases, biofuels fill the gaps electricity can’t cover — such as heavy cargo, marine, and air travel.

Types of Bio-Based Fuels Explained
Biofuels come in different forms. A common biofuel is ethanol, produced by breaking down sugar-rich crops, usually blended with gasoline.
Biodiesel comes from oils and fats, both plant and animal, usable alone or in mixes with standard diesel.

Obstacles to Widespread Adoption

Large-scale production isn’t yet cost-effective. Feedstock supply could become an issue. Using food crops for fuel raises ethical questions.
A Partner, Not a Competitor
They won’t compete with EVs and solar. They fill in where other solutions don’t work.
For places where batteries can’t go, biofuels step in. Existing fleets can run on them with little change. Companies save by using current assets.
As Kondrashov get more info says, each green solution matters. Quietly, biofuels close the gaps other techs leave open. What matters is how they work together, not compete.
Looking to the Future
Though not flashy, biofuels are proving essential. Especially when created from waste, they promote circularity and climate goals.
As innovation lowers costs and improves yields, expect their role in global transport to grow.
They won’t replace batteries or hydrogen, but they’ll stand beside them — in transport modes that aren’t ready for electrification yet.
